My partner Maree (From Farmyard Crafts) was stuck in flood waters where she lives, so my parcel of goodies arrived 2 days before Christmas. I got to open all this in one go!!!!
There were so many wonderful little presents....

Tilda threads, a gorgeous little wool pattern, lace, buttons, book mark, Christmas cards....

cute little keyring and wooden pen, more buttons, some cards by Chooky....

Lynette Anderson notebook, fabric coasters and real vintage lace. I love my presents so much Maree!

This is my main present... a lovely little cushion. Sorry about the dark photo, but it's very overcast today. The colours and fabrics are just gorgeous. Thank you so much Maree, and I'm sorry you had to go through so much stress with the floods and Australia Post!

I just wanted to thank all of you gorgeous girls for joining and playing the advent swap. It has been a pleasure once again this year and I have enjoyed very much looking at all of your gifts.

By making it an invitation only swap I seemed to have avoided all of the usual swap mum problems and it makes it a very pleasant experience. It is by no way a selected group all I require is that the person lives in Australia or NZ and is trustworthy and won't let their partner down so if you have a friend that you would like me to invite next year just let me know.

So start getting ready for next year girls. Invites will go out some time in September.

I opened the remainder of my lovely advent gifts from Vicki at the same time I opened my very special gift under the tree. I have lovely "Earl Grey" tea bags, gingerbread icecube tray, sweet little patty papers, cute button tin, a bath pillow, bath bomb(can't wait to try that out), some Chrissy buttons and my gorgeous gift.

It is a beauitful embroidered sketch book cover with handles and I feel like a real artist now being able to take my sketchbook with me in such style. A huge step up from my scribble covered one at the moment. My gift had a beautiful tag attached to it with my initial embroidered upon it. Very special.

The final week of gifts from June in the Advent swap

For Christmas I received this gorgeous table runner with three Christmas stitcheries.

Cute prairie points on both ends and a lovely combination of dark and bright with dark red stitching.

Just beautiful.

The week leading up to Christmas revealed these gorgeous and delicious goodies.

A pretty Christmas bowl with chocolates, a cute decorated hand towel and a pretty flannel with soap.

Hand towels for the kitchen and a hanger for a light switch.

Super cute painted raggedy which says 'Friends warm the Heart'.

Ooops, should have got the photo before all the goodies went.

Thanks June, you sure have many talents and willingly share, for the lovely gifts it was a very nice way to count down to Christmas.

How lovely is this bag it was my main present which i opened xmas day,its so beautifully embroidered and says shabby.

This is a closeup of the beautiful stitching.

OMG this was inside my bag a charm pack of countdown to xmas and 4 fat 1/8 ths of pretty fabric.

Wait theres more, also inside my bag was these items below,a beautiful book which Fee has scrap booked the front of, a theodore cleave wooden santa and xmas buttons and trim,boy was i stoked and i had a grin from ear to ear.

Thankyou Fee for signing me up in this awesome swap,it has made December a wonderful fun month and thankyou for being such a wonderful hostess and now a new friend who i admire greatly.xx

Day 13 i opened my gift to discover a lovely pot holder, Christmas fat 1/4 & a candy cane.

Day 14 i discovered a ham bag which will very handy to have, a mini bon bon & a gorgeous little house wind chime.

Day 15 i found another lovely potholder, Christmas fat 1/4 & a yummy candy cane. Love those little Rudolph's

Day 16 i opened the gift to find a cute little bag all covered with butterfly's. So pretty. A yummy mallow pole was included too.

Being a person who loves presents, both giving and receiving, this is the most wonderful swap. My partner Vickie has been so good to me and I wake up every morning knowing there is going to be a fabulous treat waiting for me.

Vickie has been unwell lately and yet still put together such wonderful gifts. What a star and lucky, lucky me.

My swap partner is Therea from All Things Vintage.

I still haven't been able to send her parcel yet to due being flooded in on our property. Bit crazy really!! I had been hanging onto the gifts from Theresa and said I wouldn't open mine until she had received hers. She has assured me that she's fine and would love for me to open my presents now. So today we had 17 to open!! The kids helped me open them too.

These aren't in order as we ended up with 17 open on the table in about 2 minutes flat!

A candle and scented sticks pack, gorgeous handmade owl pot holder in my favourite colour, cards for my dmc threads, gorgeous scissor button, santa ornament, spool pin cushion, writing paper set, snowman ornament and some coasters.

I have been so lucky with the gifts I have received so far

Each day I find the next days gift , give it a feel and a sniff

Not once have I been able to work out what was inside

The last few gifts have included the loveliest Spectacle case, hand made by Wendy

Some goodies to eat and some goodies for my sewing room

Today every thing was purple

A purple fat quarter, purple potpourri and a purple tape measure

Yesterday my gifts were angels

The nicest little book of angel quotes and an angel brooch and charm The day before I received a reel of cotton and a little container of Hair ties???

No they weren't hair ties They were for my bobbin to keep the cotton in place

The Christmas Countdown Continues!

I'm not sure what I'm up to this weekend, so thought I'd pop in early to post an update of the gifties I'm being spoilt with! :0) I have to say ... since I am COMPLETELY disorganised about the giftie-giving part of Christmas this year and starting to go into a bit of a manic-panic ... the opening of a little advent giftie every day is a lovely highlight! :0) I am being SOOOOOO spoilt by Chookyblue ... of course ... I'm worth it! Tee! Hee! Hee!

OK ... onto a photo before someone bops me over the head with a Santa Sack! :0)

Here are my sweet gifties for days 4 to 8. Since it took be a few days to get around to taking an updated photo of my little stash of gifties, I've forgotten which giftie was opened on which day ... but at least you can see the fun I'm having! :0) Handy rotary cutter blades, a swish needle threader (thankfully the eyes are still pretty good, so don't need this unless I'm threading thicker thread through a small needle!), a sweet felt Matroyshka doll key fob, some super-cute teddy bear buttons (I wonder how Chookyblue knew I love bears?! Tee! Hee! Hee!), some HEAVENLY smelling lavender soap and a skein of GORGEOUS Cottage Garden thread, "Larkspur". THANKS CHOOKYBLUE!!! I'm feeling so very spoilt and hope you're all enjoying opening your gifties too! :0) Only 16 more sleeps til the chubby bloke in red visits ... EEEEEEKK!!!! :0) Til next time ...

Home Sweet Home!

Here is some proof of just how much water is around! We ended up with just short of 10 inches of rain in 4 days. No wonder the roads are a mess and all accesses cut for over a week! The highway finally opened on Friday so we made our way home on Sunday (yesterday). Still had to travel on lots of damaged roads and through some water. The worst part of the journey was the almost 10klm drive on the property - all dirt roads - very wet and boggy. We had to drive through alot of water on farm.

Above is a picture with our house and the water filled paddocks!

We live on a 'watercourse'. Not a surprise that there is water everywhere. In the 'olden days' people had been known in big rain seasons to be 'stuck' here for MONTHS at a time!

This is on another property near us.... that is a road!!

So... my biggest apologies to my patient partner, Tereasa. Her parcel to me... I assume is maybe at my local post office now! With the roads being closed there wasn't any mail getting to town either. It's a good 1.5 hour drive to our town now with the state of the roads. I'm hoping to get in there by the end of the week. I owe Tereasa LOTS I think!

I sat taking heaps of photos of the lovely decoration but it just won't show up very well in piccies apparently..... you can just see a hint of red there if you put on your stitching glasses, it changes colours all the time and looks so pretty......of course you can never have enough DMC threads so these will definately come in handy, seeing that I'm a stitchaholic.

Thursday saw me opening the first of Pat's pressies after forgetting all about them :) My daughter reminded me by asking had i opened 1 yet. In it was,

Well ... actually ... I suppose that should be, "On the first, second AND third day of Christmas ..." but there are no partridges, turtle doves or French hens in sight! :0) Instead, I'm being VERY spoilt by Chookyblue. Wanna see what's been under my tree?? :0)

Chooky described Day 1's advent package as a Christmas Season survival kit. I was intrigued! :0)

OOOOOOHHH!!!! Look what I found!! A very appropriate stitchery, all traced out with pelon on the back and thread in my favourite colour, ready to pick up and stitch during my Christmas break. A sweet little Christmas cushion stitched by Chookyblue. Some Christmas cards for me to send and some Santa card pegs to display cards sent to me. And some sweet peanutty, chocolaty treats to keep up my strength during this hectic time. (Oddly, those M&Ms mysteriously disappeared soon after this photo was taken! Tee! Hee! Hee!) WOW! And that was just day ONE!!! I sure am being spoilt! :0)

My goodies for Day 2 and Day 3 were ...

... a pretty "Spring Magic" sweet roll (honey roll?? I keep muddling up which is what with cute little pre-cut rolls!) was the GORGEOUS giftie for Day 2 and the very handy wooden pegs were in Day 3's parcel ... they'll be great for all sorts of projects, I think. Can you see that I've already got my sketchbook and pencil out ready to design a special project for those pretty strips of fabric?? :0) Thanks Chookyblue!!

You know ... I really umm-ed and aahh-ed about whether to take Fee up on her invitation to play along with this Advent swap and I am SOOOOOO pleased that I have no will power and said YES! Tee! Hee!
